Have you contemplated therapy but can’t find the time?
Therapy needn’t be difficult to access. Most issues that can be addressed in my office can be handled via phone or video.
When in-person sessions aren’t an option, teletherapy is a safe and confidential space to continue your therapeutic work.
Connecting in person makes a big difference when you’re engaged in process therapy. But when that’s not possible, for whatever reason, we don’t want you to miss your session altogether.
When you are on vacation or traveling for work, teletherapy offers continuity.
Are you skeptical about online therapy?
That’s an easy question to answer. I was, too! But because my supervisors lived and worked out of state, we conducted my supervision online. It was convenient, relaxed, and effective. In some respects, it added a level of comfort that may have even enhanced my experience!
Research and outcome studies to date, follow the recent and rapid growth of telemental health and online therapy. Teletherapy has proven effective especially for those who travel, have a chronic illness or disability, live in an area distant from mental health services, or have transportation problems that make it impossible to have face-to-face sessions.
Confidentiality
So much of what goes on in therapy is subtle and nuanced by body language. Therefore, teletherapy may not be for everyone.
To make it possible to share deeply personal stories and difficult thoughts and emotions, confidentiality is of utmost importance. Confidentiality is ensured by having a HIPAA-compliant, highly encrypted network.
